Step behind the scenes in a relaxed 45-minute guided tour through the working orchard at Hillside Harvest. Led by Allan or Paula, whose family have been orcharding in the district for over 100 years, we invite you to wander through the trees, ask questions, learn how fruit gets from tree to table, hear our story and the history of fruit growing in the Orange region.
After the walk, guests are welcome to stay and explore, pick your own fruit if in season (orchard entry included), relax among the trees, or visit the farm shop and café showcasing local produce.

PRESERVED LEMON WORKSHOP

Local lemon trees are laden with ripe fruit, making now the perfect time to learn the art of preserving lemons. In this hands-on workshop, you'll discover this simple, traditional technique, explore the history and cultural significance of preserved lemons, and enjoy a tasting of Moroccan Chicken Tagine. You'll make your own jar to take home while learning tips for perfect results every time. We'll also share recipe ideas for savoury dishes, dressings, marinades, baking, and more. Suitable for adults, junior cooks, and families. No previous preserving experience is required.

LEMON CURD WORKSHOP

Discover the joy of making silky, homemade lemon curd in this hands-on workshop. We'll begin by tasting fresh lemon curd in tartlets and with pikelets and cream while exploring the techniques, tips, and secrets to perfect results every time. Then, roll up your sleeves and make your own batch to take home. You'll leave with a jar of delicious lemon curd, workshop notes, recipes, and the confidence to recreate it in your own kitchen or as a thoughtful handmade gift. Suitable for adults, junior cooks, and families. Contains egg and dairy.

Fruit Drying & Treat-Making Workshop

Discover the delicious art of drying fruit — one of the
oldest, simplest, and most satisfying ways to preserve the harvest. Join us for a cosy, sensory-rich session where you'll learn the key principles of dehydrating seasonal fruit. Start with tasting of some beautifully dried local fruits, while exploring creative ways to use them. Then it’s time to roll up your sleeves and to create your own.

BRUSHSTROKES AND BARRELS

Join us at Brushstrokes and Barrels, a celebration of art and flavour, hosted by Hillside Harvest, Orange Mountain Wines, and artist Kerrie Stewart. Start in the Hillside Harvest Orchard, enjoying stunning views of Mt Canobolas while painting your own masterpiece with Kerrie's guidance—no experience needed! Then, visit Orange Mountain Wines for an intimate experience, exploring the vines and tasting handcrafted wines in a warm atmosphere.

EMBER FEAST
SUNDAY 16th AUGUST I 11AM - 3PM I $65 adults
Gather beneath the bare winter branches at for Ember Feast, a relaxed afternoon celebrating food, fire, and community.
Renowned local chef Richard Learmonth joins Aiden and Felix from Trunkey Bacon and Pork to slow roast a whole pig over open flames, serving succulent spit-roasted pork with hearty BBQ sides and Hillside’s orchard-made apple sauce.
As live acoustic music drifts through the orchard and fire buckets crackle nearby, enjoy the warmth of good company and country hospitality. Bring your own drinks, picnic rug, and chairs, and settle in for a memorable fireside feast in the heart of the orchard
